Scotland is a country packed with rich countryside and glorious settings, from converted barns and crofts to the castles and grounds of historical properties. We have worked at such an array of great venues we wanted to share the best of those with you.
All have the scope to offer you the special day you envision, and are a delight to work with. Each location is within travelling distance of our Edinburgh base, but we’re happy to go further afield.

There isn’t an Edinburgh resident more famous than Greyfriars Bobby, and our first venue is his spiritual home. Greyfriars Kirk is located a stones throw from Edinburgh Castle, and is a multi-use converted church venue with most of the original features intact. It has a catering kitchen on site and plenty of space for a dance floor and decent sized bar.
Even closer to Edinburgh Castle is the recently restored historic Riddles Court — great for smaller and more intimate weddings.
On the North side of Princes Street we really like Edinburgh Academy at Henderson Row , a fully functioning school with a range of stunning spaces that can be hired out at the weekends.
If you prefer something a little smaller to the east of Edinburgh we can recommend Portobello Town Hall.
Just outside the West Lothian town of Kirknewton lies Kirknewton Stables , another of the nicely converted buildings on our list. With its own professional kitchen and options for marquee, you can use the space and grounds how you see fit.
To the East we have the coach house at Colstoun Estate. Opened in 2016, its big windows ensure it is a brightly lit venue during the day, and feels intimate as the evening draws in.
For a stunning setting for a marquee for a larger celebration, Arniston House near Gorebridge has a wonderful events team on this magnificent estate.
First up we’ll head over to the Western Fife coast to one of the most tranquil, Windmill Barn at Comrie Point is just stunning. A mix of well groomed outdoor space alongside the converted barn full of exposed brick and wooden beams, they can cater for up to 100 and have the space for us to install a 2-4m bar indoors, as well as an additional pop-up for outdoor drinks receptions next to the pond.
Next stop is Comrie Croft near Crieff. The venue is a large converted barn with accommodation on site and some nice rustic spaces throughout.
Further East we get to Tullibole Castle where the action can either happen in their small barn, or you can erect a marque on the large lawn in front of the castle where the peacocks hang out all day.
Next up, across on the East Coast, we have Cambo Estate. With its huge lawns for marquee weddings as well as a woodland space, both are great for any size and we can offer a range of bars to suit your day.
And last, but not least is one of our most visited venues in Fife, The Cowshed at Crail. The owners have lovingly restored the whole barn and workshop into a range of spaces able to provide everything you and your supplier need for the day. We often install our scorched wood Phoenix bar into the main marquee and a garden bar in the workshop but can be flexible based on your needs.
Part of the charm of getting to travel around for events is making new friends and local contacts who have supported us and our guests to help make every occasion special.
We’ve met some of the best over the years, and this list are just some who we love working with, who especially suit unusual venues and destinations.
